We are working with a well-established and market leading logistics and warehousing company, and they are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join the business on a 6-month Fixed Contract to start ASAP.This is a hybrid role - 3 days in the office / on-site and 2 days home (although you will fully manage your diary).
The role would be ideal for an experienced HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, looking for a varied and fast paced role with a well-established business. Responsible for providing HR support on a range of generalist areas, they need candidates who are confident, can hit the ground running and can build relationships and fully support the client group. Ideally candidates will have experience supporting a predominantly blue-collar work force and have some union experience.
Working as part of a busy HR team, the role will support a client group of c350 employees across 2 local sites (Heathrow). The focus of the role is to ensure the smooth running of the HR function and the development, implementation and monitoring of HR processes across the whole of the employment life cycle i.e., from recruitment, end to end ER case management, attendance/ case management and performance matters, through to employee exit. Key duties will include;
-Reporting into the People Manager, working as part of a busy team, and responsible for a client group of c350+ employees across the full employee lifecycle.
-Supporting with strategic goals and delivering an operationally aligned People Plan to support business goals
-Partnering and collaborating with senior / management teams, to bring the people agenda to life as a highly credible and trusted HR generalist.
-Provide coaching & guidance to managers on best practice with regard to a wide variety of employee related matters
-Lead initiatives and programmes which deliver positive employee engagement.
-Lead the development of UK-wide HR policies, processes, and values, including but not limited to Gender Pay reporting, Modern Slavery statement requirements and IR35 compliance.
-Expert on all employee relations issues, including capability, absence management, health, redundancy, to ensure successful and timely resolution and mitigation of risk.
-Coach managers to build capability, and giving them confidence and knowledge to handle difficult and sensitive matters whilst ensuring they fully understand the risk/implications
-Responsible for identifying service issues, proactively proposing improvements and leading or supporting the implementation of changes
-Deliver HR processes across the full Employee life cycle, including Performance Management, Career Development and Succession Planning
For this role candidates will need to have proven HR experience at this level and ideally hold experience within a similar sector i.e., Logistics, Transport, Warehouse, Rail, FMCG, Freight, Manufacturing, Engineering etc. Ideally Candidates will be CIPD Qualified (although not essential).
Candidates will need to be a confident self-starter with strong initiative, excellent organisational and multitasking skills, capable of working autonomously and managing and prioritising their own workload.
